As I prepare for my fourth visit to Freetown, Sierra Leone, I can't help but reflect on the journey that brought me and my family here. It really did start five years ago with my crazy idea to go to Africa! I had only traveled outside of the US two times...both to Mexico for luxurious vacations. I had no mission work experience, and I was not a very good traveler, to say the least. My anxiety could barely handle an hour in the car, much less a day on planes. Nevertheless, I felt God calling me to follow him, and I knew he had a plan.
And he did...and does. The thing about God's plan is that it doesn't really have a beginning or end. With that first trip, I thought that I would come home and know exactly what God wanted me to do. Five years later, I realize that God's plan is a process not an end product. That one leap of faith in 2011 has led to so many blessings in my life and continues to lead me on new journeys. I wish that I would've blogged these journeys over the past few years. I have so many stories that show God's work in our lives. These pictures show a few! :)
The next step on this journey give me the opportunity to share my passion for Freetown, Sierra Leone with
